Great comfort but not built to last

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a loyal ASICS customer for years and have run all my marathons in their shoes. They have always delivered great performance, which is why I chose the brand for my daughter. She previously had the GT-1000 13 PS and loved them, so we upgraded to the GT-1000 14 PS. They are very comfortable and she immediately enjoyed running in them. However, the quality is extremely disappointing. After just two days of normal use, the colour on the side started to fade, the heel tab came unstitched, and the stitching at the front began to come apart. My daughter is six and uses them as any child would. Some wear is expected over time, but this level of deterioration after two days is simply not acceptable. Given the price and my previous experience with ASICS, this is a major let-down. I will now consider other brands for childrenโ€™s shoes.
