Son thinks it's the best set ever
Tom and son — 5 out of 5 stars
First my perspective as an adult... the smart brick concept seems a little muddled. Some sets have a smart brick, others don't. I assumed you would be able to buy smart bricks separately, but you can't. Some of the sounds are a bit odd, but others are great. It's not clear which actions generate which sounds. So I feel there is plenty of room for improvement. But, this set isn't for me. It's for me 7 year old son and he ABSOLUTELY LOVES IT. He thinks it's the best thing ever. The lego smart brick added a new dimension to the build. He couldn't wait to get each part build, add the smart brick and hear the sounds that it makes. Pure joy for him. He is also playing with the set more than standard sets. The sound and lights has sparked his imagination and brought the set to life more. Overall, there is clearly a lot of potential with the smart brick concept. I'd love to see lego give the option of buying extra smart bricks and then I will definitely add more of the sets to the collection.
