MGS 54 — 3 out of 5 stars
Queen size: Heats each side effectively and fast if put up to highest level, but there is a significant unheated gap between the two sides. Very long controller cords are cumbersome and clumsy, especially as the actual controller is quite lightweight and feels a little flimsy.

This Breville Sleep Sound Electric Blanket is easily one of the best home purchases I've made. The quilted cotton top layer is thick and plush, meaning you can't feel any annoying wires underneath you while sleeping. With 9 customizable heat settings and a clever auto-off timer, it is incredibly easy to set it perfectly for a cozy night's sleep. The 45cm deep elastic skirt fits tightly over my mattress without slipping. Plus, the fact that the digital controller detaches so the whole blanket can be safely machine-washed is a massive win!
Shaddower — 3 out of 5 stars
This is a really nice electric blanket - it heats up quickly, has easy controls to use (the buttons do sound a little cheap, but don't feel like they'd break). The placement of the cord is poor - there is an electrical connection from the blanket to the power cable and you can definitely feel it when you get into bet - a hard thing up near your pillow - that should have been placed higher on the blanket. The plastic press studs that connect the blanket to the quilting that makes it washable are also something that you feel when you're in bed - they run along the edge of the blanket. We have not washed it yet, so I can't comment on that part. Initially we had the blanket under our mattress protector, which gave a little more comfort and protection from the un-comfy things already mentioned, but then read you shouldn't do that so we moved it. I also don't love how the power cords have to come out the side of the fitted sheet, pulling that up more than usual. I would say this is a decent electric blanket, it warms up quickly and does a good job - but there are definitely design features that weren't properly product tested that should have been.
